Battery Storage Cautions
  • Store battery in a stable position and away from conductive or metallic material.
  • Disconnect the battery from charging equipment before storage to avoid possible overdischarge or damage.
  • Battery should be stored in a cool, dry place to reduce self - discharge and avoid terminal corrosion.
  • Batteries will self - discharge during shipment and storage; therefore it is necessary to recharge batteries before use.
  • Recharge the battery during storage at least once every 6 months during storage.
  • If the battery is stored too long without recharge, it cannot be recovered to its rated capacity even if its recharged.
  • Do not smoke in battery storage areas.
  • Excessive heat without ventilation can cause the interior of the batteries to expand.
  • After long - term storage, all batteries deliver less than rated capacity on first cycle.
  • Ambient operation temperature permits in the range from -15°C to 50°C, but 20°C to 25°C will extend life. Elevated temperature can lead to capacity loss.
  • Do not use or store the SLA battery where the environment temperature exceeds 50°C. Doing so will shorten battery life, lower its performance lecel, cause the battery to leak fluid and get damage or deformed.

Battery General Storage Conditions
  • Indoor and secure to discourage theft or vandalism.
  • Under roof protection to prevent damage to the casing.
  • Keep away from from fire, sparks, heat and other hazardous material to eliminate the risk of spark.
  • Avoid direct sunlight.
  • Low humidity.
  • Cool, dry and well ventilated areas.
  • Away from hot sources (such as transformer), otherwise, battery temperature will rise and it will shorten battery life.
  • Store the batteries beyond the reach of children. Also, keep children away from charging storage battery.

Battery Handling Cautions
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling batteries.
  • Do not use the battery in fully sealed room and avoid charging the battery in a sealed container.
  • Do not combust batteries as they may flame up and explode.
  • Do not disassemble or reassemble the battery.
  • Avoid abnormally strong vibration and refrain from heavily impact the battery.
  • If sulphuric acid splashes down to skin or cloth, wash immediately with water. If splashed into eyes, wash with a large amount of water and get medical assistance immediately.

Battery Maintenance Cautions
  • Clean battery with wet soft cloth to keep battery contact surfaces clean. Dry cloth produce electrostatics should not be used.
  • Never use oil, polyvinly chloride or organic solvents (like gasoline and paint thinner) to clean the battery. Otherwise, battery case may be cracked, deformed and acid leakage will result.
  • When the batteries are connected in series to provide more than 100V, special cautions should be made to prevent electricity leakage.
  • Fasten the battery connections firmly and protect it from unusual vibrations and shocks during service.
  • Cable connections need to cleaned and tightened as battery problems are often caused by dirty and loose connections
  • Do not use batteries in totally sealed space. If envitable, ventilation equipment should be constructed adequately in the space.
  • Disconnect the connections from the charge equipment and the loads when the battery needs to be stored. The place for storage should be cool, dry and ventilated.

Battery Transportation Cautions
  • Care is required when transporting batteries to prevent leakage of battery.
  • Batteries may be dislocated from their original position, or the carton box may tear or overturn, causing the electrolyte to leak.
  • Battery should be well packed and tied securely during transportation.
  • Be cautious to prevent short circuit of batteries during their transportation and installation.
  • Abstain bumping and humidity during transport, load and unload the batteries.
  • Administer the batteries carefully to avoid damages.
  • Avoid moisture or rain on the battery or case.
  • Keep battery and carton dry.
  • Transport the batteries in the upright position to prevent unnecessary shock.
  • Do not lift a battery by its terminal. Otherwise, internal construction may be damaged.

Battery Installation Cautions
  • Use insulated tools.
  • Do not install the battery upside down (the terminals face downwards). POWERBATT batteries are designed to use in any position, but charging in up - side down position should be avoided. Otherwise, leakage of electrolyte from safety valve may occur during excessive charge.
  • Verify whether there is an abnormality on battery vase like crack of leakage.
  • The batteries can be installed in several types such as cabinet, vertical racks, horizontal racks, open racks and ground placement.
  • Space must be provided between each two batteries. It is necessary for each two batteries to have space of no less than 5mm to 10mm.
  • When batteries are used in vibration conditions, they should be mounted in upright position and with proper caution for protecting vibration.
  • Be careful to connect the positive (+) battery terminal to the negative (-) pole of the load / charger. Wrong connection will result in explosion, fire or damage of the charger / loading equipment and batteries.
  • Pay attention to high voltage when a large number of batteries are connected in series. Be sure to wear rubber gloves before installation or maintenance.
  • Avoid mixed usage of batteries differing in capacity, type, manufacturers or history of use charge or discharge) which may damage the batteries or the equipment due to the difference in characteristics value.
  • Do not soldier directly on to the terminals of the SLA battery. Doing so, can cause the battery's internal fluid to leak.

Battery Charge Cautions
  • The cycle use requires charging to be completed within a short period. When making fast charge, take safety precautions, such as, automatic cut off of charge upon completion or preventing overcharge even after long extended charge by controlling the charge current.
  • Do not charge batterues under direct sunlight or near heat generator. Otherwise, battery temperature may increase abnormally which may results in overcharge.
  • In cycle operation, do not continue to charge battery over 24 hours to avoid battery overcharge and deterioration.
  • Do use appropriate charger when charging battery, and adhere to the charging instruction accordingly.

Battery Discharge Cautions
  • Do not discharge the batteries below our recommended final discharge voltage (cut-off voltage) to avoid over discharge.
  • Pay attention to design a cut off device.
  • Battery shall be charged immediately after use. If a battery is stored without charging after discharge , it may deteriorate and become more difficult to be recharged due to the increase of internal resistance.
  • Do not allow the SLA battery's discharge current to exceed the maximum value listed in its specifications. Exceeding the maximum value for the discharge current can cause the battery to leak fluid, generate heat and explode.
